How to: Artfully Display Kids’ Art

One way I am getting ready for the school year is cleaning up the display area for my child’s art.  Our display area happens to be in the playroom.

I created a simple way to display art with small nails, clothes pins, and hemp yarn because it’s what I had on hand.  I nailed in the nails along the entire wall then ran the hemp along it and attached clothes pins.

When I am hanging up my child’s artwork I make sure to write her name on the back and I date it or put her age on it.  That way if I decide to keep it for the long haul, that important information is already there.

A friend of mine was able to visit an Ikea and picked up the curtain wire (it comes with brackets) from the Dignitet series:

While it’s a pain to hang, it looks fabulous and would be great to hang in a more public location.

If you don’t have horizontal space to create a display area, you might benefit from a picture pocket.

This is an excellent way to share artwork and change it easily.

For an easy way to switch frames you might want to go the dynamic frames route:

And here’s my final idea on displaying kid’s art.  Instead of using these clipboards like shown in the pictures you can easily add your child’s best school work or art here and these chipboard clipboards are cheap.

The key here is to remember to label the back with the important information before displaying them.  And then once the artwork is done being on display, you must be picky about what pieces of art make it to the “keeper box”.
